Bio
Rami Hanafi is a Finnish visual artist who specializes in still images and film. His work is distinguished by its fleeting and spontaneous sense of narrative. Thus he has an extensive experience in creating visual stories for global brands and medias.

Hanafi's background is in photojournalism, which he pursued at The University of Tampere, The Danish School of Journalism (Aarhus), and The International Center of Photography (New York). His international career sparked through his passion for snowboarding, leading him to travel the world documenting top professional riders for renowned snowboarding brands and magazines worldwide.

Hanafi has ventured into some of the world's most remote locations, from the Taliban strongholds of Pakistan to the glaciers of Alaska. He thrives equally on a small productions atop the highest peaks of Svalbard and when directing broad scenes in downtown Los Angeles.

Fusing documentary and narrative techniques, Hanafi's style emphasizes the art of capturing the stories and vibrancy of youth cultures with a compelling vision. He has overseen a variety of projects, from global campaigns to brand imagery and film, for eminent brands such as Patagonia, Microsoft, Nokia and Finnair.

His work has been exhibited internationally, spanning from New York to Hong Kong, and his work is part of public collections, including the Finnish National Gallery and the Sports Museum of Finland. His photographs have graced the pages of numerous publications around the world, including Wired, Outside and ESPN.

Hanafi's accolades include winning the New York Photo Awards, earning the title of Young Photographer of the Year in Finland, and securing victory in the Finnish Picture of the Year contests. His work has also garnered multiple award nominations, including Fotofinlandia and Red Bull Illume, for three consecutive years.

Together with his partner Enni Rukajärvi they are Raymarine Ambassadors.
